We are seeking a motivated and commercially driven Junior Business Development Manager with approximately 5 years of experience in selling advanced engineering and manufacturing services, particularly within the battery technology sectors. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of a dynamic and innovative organisation at the forefront of battery manufacturing, prototype development, and engineering consultancy.

The selected candidate will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and supporting the delivery of high-value technical solutions. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of battery systems, materials, and manufacturing processes who is eager to grow their career in a fast-evolving, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the battery industry.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within the battery manufacturing and energy storage sectors.
  • Engage with clients to understand their technical and commercial needs, and propose tailored solutions across prototype builds, process development, and consultancy services.
  • Follow the internal process to develop commercial proposals and submissions in collaboration with technical and commercial teams.
  • Negotiate and win new business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including OEMs, suppliers, research institutions, and government bodies.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to inform strategic planning and identify growth areas.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to promote our capabilities and expand our network.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular reporting on pipeline development, sales performance, and customer feedback.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development or technical sales within advanced engineering services, battery manufacturing, or other related manufacturing industries.
  • Proven track record in selling complex technical services such as prototype manufacturing, process development, or engineering consultancy.
  • Strong understanding of battery technologies and electrochemistry (e.g., Li-ion, solid-state), battery manufacturing processes, and industry trends is a bonus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel for client engagements, site visits, and industry events.
  • Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical or commercial discipline is preferred.

What We Offer:

  • A collaborative and forward-thinking work environment focused on innovation in battery technology.
  • Opportunities to work on cutting-edge projects with leading industry and academic partners.
  • Competitive salary and professional development support.
  • Access to state-of-the-art facilities and a growing network in the UK’s battery manufacturing ecosystem.
